Grensle AB continues to lead the way in hot rock thermal energy storage technology. We have dedicated the last ten years to developing and refining systems that enable greater integration of renewable energy sources into electric grids. Our innovative approach addresses the inherent intermittency of solar and wind power, paving the way for a more sustainable energy future.
Our systems are designed to store excess renewable energy generated during peak production periods. For example, solar energy captured during the summer months can be stored and utilized during the winter when sunlight is less abundant. Similarly, excess wind energy produced on windy days and sunny weekends can be saved for later use, ensuring a consistent and reliable energy supply.
Several Grensle prototypes have been tested during the years. But this will be the first system to be put into real operation, demonstrating the real world effectiveness of our technology. The system is under construction in Northern Sweden. It will be charged purely by solar energy and it will be connected to a single family home and supply heat during harch winter months. We look forward to share the progress.
